How to Become a Donor

Becoming a donor is very simple. Click on the graphic above, or go to www.donatelifearkansas.org and register online. You can choose to register as an organ, tissue and eye donor. After you have completed your online registration, you will be given the option to send an email notification to family and friends, and also to encourage them to register as well. By registering online, you have the power to change your personal information  or donation choices if you should need to update your information for any reason. However, you will still need to contact ARORA if you want your name removed from the online registry. If you register online, your driver's license will not indicate that you are a donor unless you have already registered with the DMV. You can print a donor registration card if you register online, although it is not necessary to carry this card with you. You must have a valid Arkansas driver's license or Arkansas state identification card to register online at www.donatelifearkansas.org.

It is still possible to register to become an organ donor at your local Arkansas Department of Motor Vehicles office. Just say "yes" when you obtain your driver's license and are asked if you would like to become an organ donor. By answering “yes” your name will be placed in the state organ donor registry.  It is important to understand that the Donor Registry list is considered to be legally binding. ARORA is not required to ask your living next of kin to give final consent for donation, so it is very important to share your decision with family members so that they are aware of your decision to register to become a donor.

No donor card is necessary if "donor" is indicated on your driver’s license or if you register to become a donor online.
